Information about Athlete Kristina:
A wife and mother of 1 who is turning 40 in 2022 and is trying to make a comeback from 2 hip surgeries, which has been a long slow process. Kristina only has 1 half-marathon under her belt but has ran countless 5k-8k-10ks. Kristina is currently training for a half in March 2022.
Why does Kristina run?
Kristina runs because, why not? Kristina do it for herself and for both her mental and physical health. She says, "The older she gets the harder the weight stays off". Kristina wasn't always a runner. She started in 2012 to lose pregnancy weight, and then it just became a habit until hip surgeries sidelined her for quite some time. But here she is, back again! Running allows Kristina to take the days' frustrations out on the pavement. Running has taught her that she is capable of so much more than she thought, even when it's hard. Kristina runs to inspire and motivate others to keep going and to not give up when the going gets tough. Quitting gets us nowhere. While her running journey hasn't been easy, it's always been worth it and some day Kristina hopes t0 coach others who've struggled like herself.
